Time management

Jennifer has a ton of energy that she brings to the coaching session. For me, this was a good thing as it woke me up a little and put me in a “get things done” mental state. She is very task oriented and as such brings forward a plethora of ideas and thoughts to tackle the problem presented. She also is very encouraging and willing to provide resources that she has access to. She is attentive to my goal and consistently circles back to ensure that we are addressing the issues I bring forward.

Tackle weekly responsibilities and to-do lists

I wanted to be able to tackle my weekly responsibilities and to-do lists without constantly feeling like I failed. These consisted of coursework for certificate I am pursuing. I tend to set high expectations for myself. Seeing perfection as the only acceptable result diminishes my self-confidence and prevents me from accomplishing my goals. Jennifer was engaging and empathetic. Her questions, which allowed me to reframe my thoughts, revealed that I had created a very rigid schedule with too high expectations. She understood from her own experiences where I was coming from. Her ability to mirror back to me reflected how little grace I gave myself. Jennifer has a positive outlook and is very energetic. These qualities come through in her coaching. An hour together is always a comfortable conversation in which I gain clarity especially on my inflexibility with myself. Jennifer is helping me reflect on my feelings and realize that I am doing myself a disservice by not taking the time to check in with myself, and acknowledge my achievements no matter how small, taking time "to be" (time blocks for breaks) in the midst of doing. Jennifer allowed me to be heard. That she understood and had similar experiences, she made me feel safe. Moreover, her positive attitude and outlook quickly highlighted the negative self -thoughts that I had not been fully aware of.

Managing Stress & Better Eating Habits

Coach Jennifer engaged in deep listening with me. She heard my frustrations and noticed that I needed motivation throughout the day to keep going. She offered some suggestions (she asked first) for easy meals, motivational quotes, things to look forward to and written down and things to say and laugh about during the day in the mirror. I really loved the simple meal ideas that she helped with. It really made me feel like I had so many more options. She listened to my stress levels and how upset I am with no time to cook or clean my house. Jennifer's bubbly personality and her fun/goofy ideas (not in a bad way) definitely brought some creative ideas for de-stressing

My personal goals were seeking help in creating balance between getting work done and making time for self-care and reflection. I have a hard time letting go of the need for perfection and checking items off my to-do list. Jennifer’s kindness is very welcoming. Her positive energy, humor and openness are comforting and invigorating. Moreover, her non-judgmental approach creates a safe space in which to share honestly. Jennifer is confident. She was aware of the difficulty in finding balance and remaining motivated, as it is something she works on for herself. Her knowledge and experience in this area was valuable in our session. Her energy is contagious and keeps you moving forward When I got stuck on having to check tasks off my list, Jennifer made me consider – how important is the task? How urgent is it? She made me see that I could build in space for self-care and reflection if I reframed it so that these things were as valuable as work. I was happy to discuss and put into place some strategies to visualize success - to map out future goals and see the tasks as well as the self-care and reflection as progressive steps along the way. Utilizing a vision board and motivational quotes would continue to call up the importance of decompressing and reflecting, including ‘me time’ into my routine, and focusing on progress rather than on perfection.

Boundaries giving me control over my career, my personal life and taking my life back.

My first session with Coach (~8 weeks ago) is 180 degrees for me; Coach Jennifer has a natural flow in her sessions that combines active listening and empathy with support, empowerment and structure. She brilliantly reflected and reframed my experiences around boundary setting and validated that I was “taking my life back”. Coach Jennifer also used her expertise in mindfulness and both physical and mental health to help me arrive at a schedule awareness and mindset that will allow me to decrease my stress levels which are affecting my mental/intellectual/physical well-being and family relationships. Coach Jennifer is so intelligent and wise and sharp, yet she balances this with the most empathy and humor and non-judgement – allowing you a space to feel both seen and to grow. We identified methods to maintain my awareness of the space in my schedule, my continued boundary setting and how I could use that space to re-set (whether for studying, reading, catching up on work , meditation, exercise or pure relaxation). I always feel very safe, not judged and free to be me and share my struggles authentically with Coach Coach is completely immersed and invested in my words, in my story, in my progress as well as extremely clearheaded and able to offer new perspectives that remind me why I am doing what I am doing. She is comfortable, confident and competent as a coach. Coach Jennifer’s depth, intelligence and compassion as a human more than fully translated into this week’s session. I came out of the session with more clarity than I knew was possible about my needs, my time and why these were important to meeting my own goals. I feel so comfortable with Coach Jennifer – it is like talking to a good friend yet leaving the time spent together far wiser, more balanced and optimistic than before. I have made measurable progress working with her over the past two months in ways that I did not realize that I needed and in ways that I would not have previously felt were possible (or that I was courageous and clear enough to enact) for me. Jennifer is an avid weight lifter, exercise minded person and understood very well what I was trying to accomplish and utilized her expertise to help get me there. She listened to what I was saying and helped lay out a great plan to satisfy my needs. I came into our coaching, not fully clear on what I needed to address and it was the most illuminating and actionable session I have had thus far with any coach! PRIORITIES & BURNOUT

I wanted to work on getting my priorities together in my life, as I was feeling burnt out with each priority Jennifer repeated back to me what I was sharing and it was refreshing to hear someone say my words back to me. She was able to summarize my thoughts, reflected my needs (worked on those), and acknowledged my wants. She understood what I was struggling with when it came to applying to jobs in person and made me feel like I could actually be prepared for all of those unseen moments that could happen. She is very in tune with what I was sharing when it came to applying to jobs that I didn’t necessarily want;) For example, she asked what I would do to prepare for dropping off my resumes- what would my body language be? How would I dress? It was like she knew I struggled with those things, as I am an introverted person. Jennifer is very detail orientated and gave me a lot of encouragement when it came to getting things done. Her presence was insightful in and of itself, she gave me that push! Thank you, Jennifer!
